Attending Transformation Table’s first post COVID in-home dinner was such a complete treasure; not only for the wonderful Ethiopian dinner prepared by Chef Glad and hosted with such graciousness by Terry and Walter Wilson, but also for the amazing opportunity to connect with special people.

I was so excited and delighted to meet Jana Riley, the Executive Director of the Summerville Public Works Art Center. I’ve known about the art center for a while and had really wanted to go over to experience the gallery exhibitions and take some of the wonderful classes. Once we got to talking, Jana invited me and Terry to come for a tour, which we did the following week. What a wonderful place! As Terry and I were given a tour of the center, Jana introduced us to her assistant director, Emily Epling, who told us about many of the classes being offered to children and adults. She mentioned that they were hoping to offer an early childhood art class but had been hard pressed to find someone who was interested in teaching three- to five-year-olds. I raised my hand and said, “I’m interested!” I just want to do Art and Babies!”

So, without further ado, I’ve landed the perfect opportunity to pivot into manifesting my newest dream come true. I have had the delightful pleasure of offering two series of 4-week early childhood art classes at the Center.

This is the beauty of Transformation Table – bringing people together around the table to share experiences, ideas, and passions all while enjoying the delights of cultural cuisine.

Good food is always a unifier!

Thanks so much to Tina and Transformation Table for making all this possible.
